Classic slots with interesting rewards are plentiful, and with their simple design and the ability to earn significant amounts, 9 Pots of Gold is a top contender. Developed by Gameburger Studios in conjunction with Games Global (formerly Microgaming) 9 Pots of Gold offers a great mix of fun visual effects, player-friendly options, and a scatter pays system to keep things moving. One of the things that make 9 Pots of Gold stand apart from other games is the way that it combines older-style slot machine mechanics with modern bonus-driven gaming. Whether you’re someone new to slots who wants something fun to entertain yourself, or a seasoned gamer looking for a stable RTP and fair amount of volatility, 9 Pots of Gold fits into a lot of different niches without feeling like there’s a million things going on.

Game Details

In 9 Pots of Gold, players will find themselves in a 5 reel / 3 row game format with 20 static paylines. Released in 2020, 9 Pots of Gold was one of the first few releases from Gameburger studios under the Microgaming banner. The user interface and menu system have been kept nice and tidy throughout the development process; the game is optimized for use on desktop computers as well as mobile devices. All buttons are strategically located and switching between betting options and spinning is very smooth even on smaller screens.

The slot has been created using HTML5 technology, allowing it to run seamlessly on all platforms (e.g., Android, iOS, etc.) without losing any graphics or functionality. Players can start wagering at .20 and go up to $60 per spin. The highest potential payout in 9 Pots of Gold is 2000x your wager and the RTP percentage is at a solid 96.24%, creating a perfect balance between risk/reward and fairness.

Visuals/Soundtrack/Design

The slot uses Ireland as its theme and creates a welcoming atmosphere through vibrant colors and recognizable icons. Green hat, Golden Harp, Four-Leaf Clover, Mushrooms, etc. are all symbols used to reinforce the “Good Luck” theme. A warm and soft glow emanates from the background, depicting a field with a rainbow and golden lighting reminiscent of the sun setting over rolling hills. A lighthearted Celtic-inspired tune plays continuously while you spin. The music/sounds are pleasant and not overpowering. Overall, the graphics and sound come together to create a consistently polished look.

Animations are present, but not overwhelming. There are flashing reels upon large wins, pulsating symbols upon feature activation, and celebration-style animations once features have been activated. Players who prefer visually appealing aesthetics without overwhelming noise will love what 9 Pots of Gold has to offer.

Wager Options/Potential Win

One of the positive aspects of 9 Pots of Gold is its adaptable wager range. Starting wagers begin at .20 and can go as high as $60 per spin. As such, players can choose how much they would like to wager based on their current bankroll. Casual players will appreciate the fact that they can play longer without breaking the bank, while serious players will enjoy having enough wiggle room to shoot for larger wins. The maximum win is 2000x your bet, achieved by landing nine Pot Scatters on a single spin. Although some may say it leans towards a higher variance than others, due to its mid-tier volatility, a six-figure win at max-bet is certainly within reach. Additionally, its 96.24% RTP ranks among the best slots in terms of Return-to-Player (RTP).

The Volatility level lies somewhere between low and medium. Some reviewers mention a slightly increased variance when trying to chase larger wins via bonuses; however in general you’ll see wins occur roughly 4 times out of every 10 spins due to its Hit Frequency (a little less than 40%). As such, although you may not get massive wins frequently, you’ll almost never go too long without seeing some kind of win.

Bonus Rounds & Key Features

Feature #1: Pot Pays Scatter

The main attraction in 9 Pots of Gold is the Pot Pays Scatter feature. Unlike a typical bonus game, this system provides instant cash prizes for landing three or more Pot Scatter symbols ANYWHERE ON THE GAME BOARD (not necessarily aligned on a payline).

The number of Pot Scatters landed will determine the prize amount awarded:

• Three pots = 1 x your bet
• Four pots = 5 x
• Five pots = 15 x
• Six pots = 40 x
• Seven pots = 100 x
• Eight pots = 500 x
• Nine pots = 2,000 x

This system works well due to its simplicity. There aren’t any confusing bonus levels to navigate through. You see the pot(s), you win. Due to the ease-of-use nature of this system, it lends itself nicely to players who enjoy frequent feature hits without having to navigate through multiple layers of bonus systems.

Feature #2: Free Spins Wheel

The second primary feature is the Free Spins Wheel, which triggers after three Free Spin symbols have been landed on reels two, three, and four. After triggering the feature, the game displays a wheel that randomly selects the number of free spins and the multiplier applied to those free spins.

The wheel awards:

• Between 10 – 30 free spins
• Either a 2X or 3X multiplier

As if these two elements weren’t exciting enough already… the free spins round also includes an additional element that makes it particularly enjoyable: retriggers. If you manage to land three Free Spins symbols again during your bonus round, the free spins round will restart with another spin of the wheel. Because all wins generated during this round will be multiplied by whatever multiplier was selected prior to this round beginning, the possibilities for achieving big wins become exponentially greater when combining Pot Pays wins that may drop during this round.

Feature #3: Wild Symbol

Wild symbols have played a supporting role in 9 Pots of Gold. They are represented by Mushrooms and replace all standard symbols to allow for completed winning combinations. While Wilds do not generate their own separate feature/bonus option, they do contribute positively toward increasing win rate in both base game mode AND free spins.

When Wilds land next to premium symbols, they greatly enhance the chances of earning higher payouts without generating special conditions or triggers.

Compatibility Mobile Devices

9 Pots of Gold was developed specifically with mobile gamers in mind, and it reflects that. Regardless of screen size, the mobile version of the game presents a clear and uncomplicated interface. The spin button is large and easy to press; adjusting bet selections is accomplished via sliders; and all menu options respond smoothly. The game loads extremely fast and operates with zero lag when accessed via an internet browser on either iOS or Android devices; therefore, no downloads are required to access this title. Furthermore, regardless of whether you connect via Wi-Fi or mobile data, the game functions flawlessly; animation speed remains consistent between desktop/laptop versions and mobile versions.

Autoplay and Gaming Controls

Autoplay was added as an option for those who want to enjoy a relaxed gaming experience. There are several options for customizing autoplay including setting a certain number of rounds and/or adjusting the loss limit and win limit based on the casino site’s advanced settings. In addition to autoplay, there are many other quick access buttons for adjusting the sound, stake and speed of play (turbo), which allows players to customize how fast they would like the game to proceed.

Players can choose whether to play each round individually or let the reels continue to spin automatically. The additional options allow players to create their own customized gaming experience, making the experience enjoyable regardless of how long the gaming session lasts, while allowing for great flexibility in terms of how players wish to engage in the game.

Similar Slots

As one could expect given the similarities with 9 Masks of Fire, 9 Pots of Gold shares a common ancestry with its counterpart. Although both share the same type of Pot Pays scatter system, 9 Masks of Fire is themed with an African Tribal design, while 9 Pots maintains a traditional Lucky Charm theme inspired by Ireland. An alternative slot to compare with would be HyperSpins, a feature version of the slot that provides the option to respin any reel. As mentioned above,

HyperSpins is not included within the standard version of 9 Pots of Gold; however some variations of this slot are available through certain online casinos. With respect to other slot games within the same genre such as Fire Joker, Leprechaun’s Luck and many Megaways-style slots offer the same level of gameplay, albeit typically with more complexity than 9 Pots of Gold.

Tips For Playing 9 Pots of Gold Wisely

To maximize the enjoyment of your gaming session, first begin by practicing using the free demo mode to learn how the Pot Pays and Free Spins Wheel functions work. Do not start betting large amounts right away. First, bet lower amount to determine what happens after you’ve reached a threshold, so you’ll know what types of hits occur more frequently, and what kinds of free spin multipliers occur.

Be careful not to chase aggressively after the highest payout possible, i.e., 2000x. That is the highest possible payout available but it rarely occurs. Most of your earnings will come from frequent smaller wins and moderate multipliers throughout your free spins. Controlling your budget based on triggering features — not the base game pay-outs — usually results in the best long term gaming experiences for slots like 9 Pots of Gold.

Where to Play 9 Pots of Gold

You can locate 9 Pots of Gold on most online casinos hosting Microgaming or Games Global titles. Many online casinos that serve international players carry this game. To add some extra value to your gaming session, look for casinos with a welcome bonus or free spins.
